Properties: This product is a mixture of magnesium stearate (C36H70MgO4) and magnesium palmitate (C32H62MgO4).
A white or almost white, very fine, light powder, greasy to the touch, practically insoluble in water and in ethanol.
Application
Magnesium stearate is widely used as a lubricant for tablets and capsules. In the pharmaceutical industry, it is also used as a glidant, a filter aid, a clarifying agent, a suspending agent, a tackifier, etc.
Magnesium stearate is the most used lubricant at present. It has the advantages of strong lubricity, good anti-stickiness, light weight, large specific volume, uniform distribution after mixing with particles, good adhesion and not easy to separate.
Storage:
Airtight preservation. Pay attention to moisture-proof, not in contact with corrosive gases, and not in contact with acids, alkalis, and toxic substances. In addition, it should be used with caution when it is compatible with certain acidic drugs.
