Properties
Manganese carbonate, or manganous carbonate, is an inorganic compound, manganese divalent carbonate, the chemical formula MnCO3. Soluble in dilute acid, insoluble in water and ethanol.
Manganese carbonate is soluble in dilute inorganic acid and slightly soluble in common organic acid. Stable in dry air. When wet, it is easy to oxidize, forming manganese trioxide and gradually turning brown and black. When heated, carbon dioxide is released. Hydrolysis occurs when azeotropic with water. In the boiling potassium hydroxide, manganese hydroxide is formed.
Application
1, Industrial raw materials, it is the manufacture of telecommunications equipment soft magnetic ferrite, synthetic manganese dioxide and manufacturing other manganese salt raw materials, used as desulfurizing oxidant, enamel, paint and varnish pigments, welding electrode accessories, electrolytic metal manganese raw materials.
2, Fertilizer industry, used as manganese fertilizer.
3, Feed industry, feed additives.
