Acarbose
Molecular Formula: C25H43NO18
Properties: Acarbose can be used in combination with other oral hypoglycemic agents or insulin in insulin-dependent or non-insulin-dependent diabetes.
Application
Acarbose, an α-glucosidase inhibitor, is a complex oligosaccharide whose structure is similar to that of oligosaccharides. It competes with oligosaccharides and binds reversibly with α-glucosidase, inhibits the activities of various α-glucosidases such as maltase, isomaltase, glucoamylase and sucrase, and decomposes starch into oligosaccharides such as maltose ( Disaccharides), maltotriose and dextrins (oligosaccharides) are further decomposed into glucose, which slows down the decomposition of sucrose into glucose and fructose, thereby slowing the absorption of intestinal glucose, thereby relieving postprandial high Blood sugar, to achieve the effect of lowering blood sugar. Long-term use can reduce the concentration of fasting blood sugar and glycosylated hemoglobin.
