Ertapenem Disodium
Molecular Formula: C22H23N3Na2O7S
Properties: Ertapenem belongs to the carbapenem antibiotics, which mainly exert antibacterial effect by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell wall.
Application
Ertapenem is indicated for the treatment of patients with the following moderate to severe infections caused by susceptible strains of the bacteria described below.
(1) Secondary intra-abdominal infection: caused by Escherichia coli, Clostridium, Eubacterium lentus, Peptostreptococcus, Bacteroides fragilis, Bacteroides gizzardii, Bacteroides ovale, Bacteroides polymorpha or monomorphic Bacteroides cause.
(2) Complicated skin and adnexal infections: those caused by Staphylococcus aureus (only referring to methicillin-sensitive strains), Streptococcus pyogenes, Escherichia coli, and Peptostreptococcus.
(3) Community-acquired pneumonia: caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae (only refers to penicillin-sensitive strains, including cases with bacteremia), Haemophilus influenzae (only refers to lactamase-negative strains) or Moraxella catarrhalis By.
(4) Complicated urinary tract infection, including pyelonephritis: those caused by Escherichia coli or Klebsiella pneumoniae.
(5) Acute pelvic infection, including postpartum endometritis, abortion infection and postoperative infection in obstetrics and gynecology: caused by Streptococcus agalactiae, Escherichia coli, Bacteroides fragilis, Porphyromonas saccharolyticum, digestive chain Caused by coccus or double-way Prevotella.
(6) Bacteremia. Studies have shown that in the treatment of complicated urinary tract infections, the effective rate of ertapenem is higher than that of ceftriaxone, and the treatment cost is lower.
