Calcium Formate
Synonyms:7Losantin, hypochlorous acid, calcium salt, BK powder, Hy-Chlor, chlorinated lime, lime chloride, chloride of lime, calcium oxychloride
CAS No: 544-17-2
Calcium formate is an organic chemical with the molecular formula C2H2O4Ca. It is widely applied as a feed additive for various animals. It has acidifying, anti-mold and anti-bacterial properties. It is further utilized as a concrete and mortar adding agent, tanning of leather or as an industrial antiseptic.
Application
Disinfectant and fugicide:
Calcium hypochlorite dissolves in water and releases HCIO hypochlorite, which acts on the protein of pathogen, denaturing the protein and causing death. At the same time, hypochlorous acid is stable, easy to decompose into atomic oxygen, atomic oxygen has strong oxidation, can oxidize pathogen proteins and kill pathogens; Hypochlorous acid can also decompose and release chlorine gas (CI), which directly acts on the protein of bacteria, denaturating the protein and killing it. In addition, the calcium chloride solution in calcium hypochlorite solution is strongly alkaline, which can dissolve the viral protein shell, which is conducive to the release of viral particles and death. Calcium hypochlorite disinfects a wide range of objects, and has a killing effect on viruses, bacteria, fungi and microparticle
Mainly used for drinking water, swimming pool water, Aquaculture industry, waste water, household, public sanitization in hospitals, schools disinfection and sterilization.
